Looks like there’s another week waiting to see the top young dancers, singers, rappers and models face off at Teen Times Talent Showdown ’08. The organizers recently announced that the show is now on October 4.
Insider information coming to MoreBacchanal.com indicates that the dance groups requested an extension to prepare their five-minute routines. Teen Times has not made official comments about the show being pushed back a week.
Also, as a result, LOL Productions’ Fashion Fusion II will be moved to Sunday, October 5.
They’re the same two shows – just at different dates.
Comedians Andrew Dick and Rolando Brison will be hosting Talent Showdown again this year, and they are promising a night full of laughs and classic, no-holds barred skits, where “everybody is a joke.”
This year, Talent Showdown has over 120 young performers spread out among 11 dance groups, 12 rappers (individuals and groups), three modeling groups and seven singers.

Only last year’s winning models, the Hot Strotterzz Modeling Agency, will be back to defend their title from last year. Singer Keila Gumbs has said that she will not be competing for a chance at her third straight Talent Showdown win, and rapper Thorsten “Thirsty” Williams left St. Maarten to further his musical career in the U.S. And we all remember what became of the controversial victory in last year’s dance category.
Suffice to say, it’s anybody’s show to win – or lose.
Talent Showdown 2k8 goes down on Saturday, October 4, at the St. Maarten Festival Village. (Tickets available at the Video Corner’s new location) Fashion Fusion happens the next day at the Great Bay Beach starting at 1:00pm.
