Another big anouncement for the Netherlands Antilles: Statia reggae star Ziggi gets signed to a major record label.
St. Maarten/St. Martin’s Internet news source SXM Island Time reports that the Statia-born reggae performer Ziggi has been signed to VP Records/Greensleeves, becoming the first non-Jamaican performer to be on the label.
VP Records/Greensleeves manages the careers of famous dancehall and reggae titans Assassin, Beres Hammond, Beenie Man, Mavado, Daville and many others – now including Ziggi – straight out of the Netherlands Antilles. Ziggi, who has made a name for himself performing in the Netherlands in recent years, is set to release his second album with the new label.

And Ziggi’s second album, “In Transit” is set to make its limited release debut in the Netherlands on Monday, September 22. In Transit’s global release is set for October.
