St. Maarten / St. Martin International Fashion Week 2010 features nearly 20 designers from around the world, along with dozens of beautiful models. It starts Monday, July 5.
During this period person who are interested in making contact with the designers are free to do so, as a matter of fact, this is one of the thing that is very much encouraged, organizers said.
It is important not to lose sight of the fact that at the core of this event, is the creation of a massive market place both buyers and sellers, where they can meet and interact with the aim of conducting commerce, this event will serve as a platform, in terms of creating additional synergies or linkage with the tourism sector, and also in creating parallel businesses that can benefit from the spillover effects from the Fashion week.
This is more than just a fashion show event, there are tremendous economic benefits to be had from this event and there is a significant level of additional added value to the economy in the medium to long run.
There will be a number of events that will be open to the general public with free admission during the course of the week (July 8 and 9) and the community is invited to attend this event, which will include a number of f. The Fashion Extravaganza will be the culmination of the Fashion Week, and this will take place on July 10.
As part of the fashion week, a workshop will be organized with some of the designers and the Director of the Fashion Week, the purpose of this workshop is to give the young people on the island an insight into this industry and how they themselves could eventually be part of it and what they will need to do.
