Congratulations to Carol Tackling’s Bacchanal Productions for its fifth and final win at St. Maarten Carnival 2010′s Grand Parade.
Carol Tackling promised to go out with a boom for this, her last, Carnival Grand Parade with Bacchanal Productions. She delivered with five impressive sections of costumes, extravagant individual costumes and a massive and unique roadpiece.
Judges gave Tackling’s Bacchanal Productions 229 more than enough to claim the Troupe of the Year title. GEBE Survivors, the only other troupe that competed, got 180 points.
Tackling has said several times that this Carnival would be her last.
From her “A Touch of French and Dutch” in 2006 to her final “Xplosion” this year, Tackling has made a name for herself as a designer.
She and a team of artists and seamstresses hand-make every Carnival costume to the wearer’s specifications.
Her road-piece, a combination of drums of exploding, Chinese fireworks, finished second to the Survivors’ by a mere two points.
