Nadia Hodge is St. Maarten/St. Martin’s first Dancehall Queen.
Nadia Hodge, known for her prolific Facebook profile and many homemade dancehall videos, beat five other girls on Saturday, August 14, for title of St. Maarten/St. Martin Dancehall Queen, a first for the Dutch/French island. She easily dominated her final round face-off with Monalissa Fleming who was favored by many to win the crown over 20-year-old Nadia. But several impressive tricks and energetic moves won Nadia a decisive 37-31 victory. Organizers decided that awarding an extra point to the crowd favorite was not necessary to pick the winner.
