Spoken word poets, rejoice! Axum Art Cafe’s Momentum poet Saturdays return this weekend!After more than two months on hiatus, Momentum Open-Mic poetry returns to Axum Art Cafe this Saturday, February 27.

‘Momentum’ started last June, giving new and seasoned poets an outlet for their verses.

“Poets are encouraged to come expecting to be inspired by the atmosphere created at AXUM,” organizers said in a press statement Wednesday.

“[We] are anticipating greater involvement and embracing from all aspects of the community.”

Organizers continued: “It’s a place for students, teachers, comedians, debaters, social critics, political critics, thinkers, artists, and patrons of the arts to come together and listen to the voices of our society.”

Momentum starts at 7:30pm this Saturday and continues until 9:30pm..
