St. Maarten’s own DJ Nachum “The Most-Shady Franky, Baby” Frank scored an impressive win at the Heineken Green Synergy DJ competition in St. Lucia over the weekend. Next stop: Green Synergy finals in Curacao..!
DJ Nachum was a last-minute addition to the seven-week Heineken/Bliss Green Synergy Music Awards this summer at nightspot Bliss. He was a shoe-in for the finals, and, two night later, he faced French St. Martin performer DJ Pana for the right to compete as St. Maarten’s DJ this year.
Within the first 10 minutes of Nachum’s 15-minute-long performance, it was clear who would represent St. Maarten/St. Martin at the annual DJ competition.
In the past four years, St. Maarten has taken first place twice and second place twice, with the island’s two top DJs – The Cut Creator DJ Outkast and Mixmaster Pauly – alternating the top two spots.
Nachum impressed with a selection of new hits and old-school favorites in St. Lucia, clinching the win at the semi-finals easily.
Will Nachum be able to prove his mettle at the finals in Curacao later in October and keep SXM gold?
