UPDATE (Nov. 15): Elektra is back on her feet, but she’s still in recovery. She spoke briefly with MoreBacchanal.com last night, telling us that she is not sure just when she’ll be back on air.
Dengue Fever has claimed popular Laser 101 radio host “Elektra” as one of its latest victims, knocking the morning personality off the air for at least a few days.
Mercedes “Elektra” Wyatt has been in the hospital since Saturday being treated for the dangerous illness caused by the bite of a very specific mosquito.
Elektra told The Daily Herald newspaper that she likely caught the virus sometime before last Wednesday when the symptoms first showed up. It began with shivers and some body pains.
By the next day, she was rushing to the Emergency Room at the hospital for the intense pains in her body. It wasn’t until Saturday, however, that she checked herself into the hospital after confirming she had the virus.
Until she is released from the hospital and recovers, her show “Wake Up with Elektra” will be off-air.
